The shapes and orientations of the polarization objects of the polarization matrix and its active component coincide but differ by a scale coefficient 1/P2 ≥ 1 as a ̂ a 1 = a ̂ 1 / P 2 $ {\hat{a}}_{a1}={\hat{a}}_1/{P}_2$, a ̂ a 2 = a ̂ 2 / P 2 $ {\hat{a}}_{a2}={\hat{a}}_2/{P}_2$, a ̂ a 3 = a ̂ 3 / P 2 $ {\hat{a}}_{a3}={\hat{a}}_3/{P}_2$, and n ̂ a O = n ̂ O / P 2 $ {\hat{\mathbf{n}}}_{a\mathrm{O}}={\hat{\mathbf{n}}}_{\mathrm{O}}/{P}_2$. Note that the case where P2 = 0 is excluded because it corresponds to a fully unpolarized state, which lacks an active component.

Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.

Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.

Initial download of the metrics may take a while.
