We are pleased to announce that the Journal of the European Optical Society-Rapid Publications (JEOS-RP) received an Impact Factor of 1.9 in the 2024 release of Journal Citation Reports™ (JCR), published recently by Clarivate Analytics. This new Impact Factor represents a 27% increase, up from 1.5 last year.
The Journal of the European Optical Society-Rapid Publications, a publication of The European Optical Society (EOS), is firmly establishing itself in the ever-expanding optics and photonics disciplines. It is proud to rank in the Atomic and Molecular Physics, and Optics 2023 CiteScore category.
It must be noted that citation metrics are only one measure of a journal’s quality. EDP Sciences is continually reviewing internal processes and communication with authors to ensure the highest levels of academic integrity, and recently published updates to the ethical standards for JEOS-RP authors to reflect this. Aliénor Decours-Perez, Journal Publisher at EDP Sciences, commented on the new ranking: “the entire JEOS-RP team works tirelessly to seek, review and disseminate the highest quality research in the discipline. It is always reassuring to see an increase in citations as a reward for those efforts.”
The journal currently has several topical issues open for submission, calling for research in many broad applications of photonics and optics including information and communication technology, security, sensing, bio- and medical sciences, healthcare and chemistry.
