We are delighted to share an update regarding the leadership of the Journal of the European Optical Society - Rapid Publications (JEOS-RP). To support the vital work of Editor-in-Chief, Silvia Soria Huguet, the EOS Executive Committee has officially created a new position: Co-Editor-in-Chief.
Martina Delgado-Pinar has been appointed to this new role, joining the journal from the Laboratory of Fiber Optics, ICMUV, at the Universitat de València, Spain. Her expertise will be a tremendous asset to JEOS-RP as it continues to grow and serve the optical community.
A new chapter in leadership
This appointment marks an exciting milestone for JEOS-RP. We are especially proud that the journal is now led by a team of two female scientists. Having both Silvia (IFAC-CNR Institute of Applied Physics, Italy) and Martina at the helm represents a significant step forward in editorial leadership, bringing together exceptional expertise to guide the future of the publication.
Maintaining editorial excellence
The leadership team, appointed by the European Optical Society (EOS), remains dedicated to the highest standards of scientific rigor. The Editor-in-Chief and Co-Editor-in-Chief work in close collaboration with the EOS Past-President, Patricia Segonds, who represents the EOS Executive Committee on the journal's board.
Together, the Editor-in-Chief and co-Editor-in-Chief oversee the peer-review process by assigning each submission to a Topical Editor with specialised expertise in the relevant field. While the Topical Editors manage the review process and propose decisions based on the recommendations of at least two reviewers, the ultimate responsibility for the acceptance or rejection of a paper rests with the Editor-in-Chief or Co-Editor-in-Chief.
Please join us in offering a warm welcome and our heartiest congratulations to Martina Delgado-Pinar and our continued thanks to Silvia Soria Huguet. We look forward to the continued excellence of JEOS-RP under this new, dynamic leadership team.
